Hi! I’m Stacy Morales, mother, wife, realtor, deep appreciator of public radio and RUNNER! I grew up in the Jane Fonda/jazzercise era and I’m still a huge fan of group fitness! Running became a big part of my life when I moved to New York City in 2007. New York Road Runners has a race in Central Park just about every month and I got totally hooked! Now, I yo-yo dieted and struggled to maintain a healthy body weight for many years and when I had my son. I was 250lbs. This was back in 2014. Guess what I did?? I joined RRFIT when my boy was 6 months old and trained for the 1/2 marathon! It took about 2 years or so, but with the help of a healthy eating plan, making healthy, self-care decisions that are sometimes unpopular and consistent exercise, I’ve been able to maintain the same healthy body weight(always a pound or 2 around 135) for over 3 years and have finally accomplished the very big goal of mine to run a sub-2 hour 1/2 marathon (first 1/2 in 2009 was 2:32!) I am THRILLED to be a part of the coaching team and would love to share my experience with and offer encouragement to anyone who wants it. I LOVE to be a cheerleader! And sidebar: I also love to run without a shirt over 70 degrees! Talk about liberating!
